M1 Law by area course codes

By UCAS's old subject scheme, a course code starting M1 means law by area, in the law area (M). 507 courses at 116 UK universities use one for 2027 entry: most ask for between 80 and 120 UCAS points; 123 courses quote A-level grades instead, most often AAB. Another 168 joint honours courses carry M1 as their second subject.

Codes in use

Universities choose their own codes, so most subjects have several. A code naming two subjects is a major/minor degree.

Joint honours

Courses carrying M1 as their second subject, by the subject their code starts with.
