By UCAS's old subject scheme, a course code starting B is subjects allied to medicine, and its first digit names the subject: B1 anatomy, physiology and pathology, B2 pharmacology, toxicology and pharmacy, B3 complementary therapies and so on. 1,919 courses at 193 UK universities use one for 2027 entry.
